Achieving network assurance requires network visibility at both a micro- and macro-level. For instance, administrators must understand how changing connectivity to a specific device impacts compliance; executives must understand whether specific initiatives are, on an aggregate basis, causing the network to grow more or less compliant.
IPsonar presents both views. Intuitive reports and color-coded maps enable executives and staff to balance change with security and compliance . Included are maps from each Sensor (IPsonar's network entry point) and a composite map of data from all Sensors.
Query and visualization tools enable IT staff to explore vast quantities of information, discovering connections and patterns that improve decision-making. Supporting details - such as a comprehensive list of network assets - are available and can be exported to security and network management tools.
Together, these capabilities thoroughly document the operational state of the changing network. Available maps and reports include:
- Executive Summary. Provides a high-level view of the impact of network change to availability, security and compliance
- Anomaly Risk Analysis. Pinpoints unauthorized hosts, devices and connections for remediation
- Address Space Analysis. Identifies address space, flagging potential security issues such as unknown or publicly registered address space
- Fingerprinting Reports. Lists resource attributes - such as OS or whether a device supports network services - to optimize network and security management
- Difference reports. Supports project planning and measurement by highlighting how the network has evolved over time
- Data export. Prepares data for export to security and network management tools, assuring deployments are based on up-to-date network facts
- Perimeter Report. Enables improvements to security by defining the perimeter between known and unknown parts of the network, including secure zones
